Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and us for your use of the Guita app and the services behind it ("Guita"). By creating an account or using Guita, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use Guita.
1. What Guita is
Guita is a tool for recording and organizing your own finances: accounts, spending, income, budgets and goals. It does not connect to banks, move money or hold funds, and it is not a bank, payment service or financial adviser.
2. Not financial advice
Balances, statistics, budgets, forecasts and currency conversions in Guita are based on what you enter and are for information only. They are not financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Check important figures yourself before you rely on them.
3. Exchange rates
Exchange rates come from a third-party provider, are updated about once a day, and may be delayed, approximate or unavailable. Don't use them for trading or for any transaction that needs an exact rate.
4. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age to consent to data processing in your country, to use Guita.
- Give us accurate information and keep your password and devices secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Tell us right away if you think someone else has accessed your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings › Delete account. Deletion is permanent and can't be undone.
5. Your data
You own the data you put into Guita, including records, notes and receipt photos. You give us permission to store, copy, process and transmit it only as needed to run Guita for you, for example to sync it between your devices. This permission ends when you delete your data or your account, except for copies in backups that expire as described in the Privacy Policy.
Guita keeps your data on your device and on our servers. We work hard to keep it safe, but we don't guarantee it can never be lost. Changes that haven't synced yet are lost if you sign out or delete the app.
6. Acceptable use
Don't:
- Use Guita for anything illegal, or to store content you have no right to store.
- Try to access other people's data, or probe, overload or disrupt our systems.
- Reverse engineer the app or service, except where the law allows it.
- Use automated means to create accounts or access the service in ways the app doesn't.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Unless there's a legal or security reason not to, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
7. Price and changes to Guita
Guita is currently free. We may add, change or remove features. If we ever introduce paid features, we'll tell you before you're charged anything, and purchases will go through the App Store. We may also stop offering Guita. If we do, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice to move your data.
8. Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
9. Disclaimers
Guita is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that Guita will be uninterrupted, error-free or that calculations will always be accurate.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of Guita. Our total liability for any claim relating to Guita is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and for significant changes we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Guita after that, you accept the new terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Uruguay, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Uruguay, unless the law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts.
13. Apple App Store terms
If you downloaded Guita from the App Store:
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for Guita and its content.
- You may use Guita on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store Usage Rules.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Guita.
- If Guita fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Guita.
- Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to Guita, including product liability claims, claims that Guita fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- Apple is not responsible for investigating, defending or settling any claim that Guita infringes a third party's intellectual property rights.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
